Financial Options

There are a number of ways to pay for your dental services. For your convenience we accept cash, debit cards, Visa & Mastercard. For patients of one-year duration or more, we can also accept personal cheques.

To speed up benefit payments we submit your claims electronically, before you leave the office. This means that you can usually expect a cheque from your benefit carrier within one week.

For extensive dental procedures we offer a 5% bookkeepers courtesy if you choose to pay for the full treatment plan at the outset.

We are also pleased to offer Medicard Patient Financing. Medicard can provide both full procedure financing as well as partial. Credit approval is within 24 hours and their interest rates are competitive based on credit history. Monthly payments are automatically debited from your chequing account and they have no early payment penalty. This works well if you are expecting funds such as income tax rebates in the near future.

   Dental benefits explained

If you have dental benefits through your employer often there is an amount not covered. This occurs due to the individual benefits plan and coverage your employer has agreed to.

For example, the Ontario Dental Association updates its dental fee guide each year and most provincial dentists, including ourselves, adhere to the fees set forth. However some benefit plans are still operating on fee structures several years old, due to the date they were negotiated between the employer and the benefit company. This means that when you come in for a treatment, such as a filling, there may be an amount not covered by your plan, which you are responsible for.

Like your holidays, dental benefits operate on a fiscal year. This means that you are entitled to a set dollar amount, and usually set dental services, each fiscal year. To maximize your benefits, it is a good idea to know what dates the benefit carrier uses as their fiscal year. That way you will be able to coordinate dental visits or potential treatments to maximize the amount your benefits cover and minimize the amount you are responsible for. Knowing these dates is especially useful with families that have plans with two policy holders.
